His background also includes roles as a vice president at Compass Lexecon and as a principal at CRA earlier in his career. Per a statement from CRA, Sherman holds a PhD in economics from Bar-Ilan University, a master’s from Cornell University, and a bachelor’s from the University of Pennsylvania.

Margaret Sanderson, who leads CRA’s antitrust and competition practice, emphasized Sherman’s expertise, noting that his insights into competitive strategy and economic modeling would be “a tremendous asset” to the firm’s clients.

In a separate announcement, CRA also welcomed Gene Tien, PhD, to its transfer pricing team. Based in Silicon Valley, Tien brings over two decades of experience advising multinational corporations on pricing strategies, valuation, and tax risk management.

According to a statement, Tien previously held senior roles at Baker McKenzie, where he spent 18 years, and PwC. He earned his PhD in economics from Northwestern University.
