JBS Pork Antitrust Case Settlement Gets OK

JBS SA is free of antitrust litigation over an alleged industry wide scheme to fix pork prices, after a federal judge in Minneapolis approved the last of its three deals to exit the case, a $20 million agreement with consumers that brings its total settlement price tag to $57 million.

    Judge John R. Tunheim signed off on the agreement about 10 months after giving his blessing to a $12.75 million pact with restaurants and retailers bringing parallel claims. Tunheim approved the company’s $24.5 million settlement with wholesalers in June 2021.
