Global financial super app Revolut has launched its Pay Later product in Ireland, a country in which it has 1.9 million accountholders.

The launch of the installment product comes after it was offered to a select group of customers in the country in June, and after more than 1,000 of those customers purchased products and services with Revolut Pay Later, according to a press release emailed to PYMNTS.

“From assisting budgeting, to managing cash flow, we’ve had great feedback and stories from our customers who have used Pay Later as part of the early rollout, and we look forward to hearing more,” Revolut Europe CEO Joe Heneghan said in the release.

Revolut Pay Later uses an approved credit limit and is not restricted to being used at certain merchant partners. It can be used online or in store with any merchant that accepts Revolut, according to the press release.

In practice, customers can use Pay Later for purchases up to their own bespoke limit or the maximum of 499 euros ($497) with any of their Revolut cards, can activate it with one tap in the Revolut app and then pay the fee of 1.65% per purchase as part of the final two installments. Revolut does not charge merchants for Pay Later transactions, per the release.

“We’re delighted to add Revolut ‘Pay Later’ to our financial [super app] to give our customers more control and flexibility over their personal finances, in a responsible way, by enabling them to spread the cost of purchases over three instalments,” Heneghan said in the release.

As of July, Revolut has more than 20 million customers worldwide, 250 million monthly transactions and a global workforce topping 5,000 employees.
