How Many Credit Cards Do You Have, Anyway?

Card startup Wallaby is hoping consumers will sign up to use its new smart card, which will combine all their credit cards into one and optimize spend according to rewards. MPD CEO Karen Webster provided an in-depth look at this business last week.

Today, we’re sharing data from Wallaby’s own survey that casts doubt over whether most consumers will see a need for a smart card. By their own estimation, most consumers carry just one or two cards anyway.

The results are based on a survey of 300 U.S. online consumers, aged 21-54, with a household income greater than $50,000, and who are partially or primarily responsible for making decisions about credit cards in the household, Wallaby says.
