Liberian Schools Accept Mobile Money For Tuition

Good news has arrived for parents in Liberia that have been subjected to waiting in long lines to pay tuition fees. Ecobank and Lonestar Cell MTN of Liberia have announced the roll out of Mobile Money School Fees Payment Service, reported All Africa. The mobile money service offers parents and guardians an easier way to pay for their children’s’ school fees.

Customers can access the service online or on their mobile phone and withdraw or deposit cash into Mobile Money. Once money is deposited into the account, users can send funds electronically to any of the schools that have registered for the Mobile Money School Fees Payment Service. Samelia Tweh, Mobile Money manager at Lonestar, stated, “We are encouraging more schools to subscribe to this value added service. All funds received through Mobile Money will be credited directly to the school’s bank account.”
