Expanding upon the in-home delivery feature of Amazon Key, Amazon has rolled out smart entry upgrades to all customers nationwide, such as keyless entry, remote lock and unlock and guest access. The eCommerce retailer also has added exit and entry clips for guests, friends and family, so customers can see when someone enters or leaves their homes, Amazon said in a statement.

“Customers have told us that they love how easy it is to use Amazon Key for keyless entry and door monitoring from anywhere with the Amazon Key App,” Rohit Shrivastava, general manager, Amazon Key, said. “It’s a great service for busy families; you no longer have to worry about giving keys to service providers like house cleaners; instead, you can give them their own code right from your Amazon Key App. We’re excited that customers across the country can now take advantage of these convenient features.”

Additionally, Amazon Key customers can also use the app to view a live stream of their door anytime, use two-way audio and receive notifications when their door is locked or unlocked. Customers can even have Alexa lock the door. Amazon originally launched Amazon Key in November as a service for Amazon Prime subscribers to facilitate unattended in-home deliveries.

“Amazon Key gives customers peace of mind knowing their orders have been safely delivered to their homes and are waiting for them when they walk through their doors,” Peter Larsen, VP of Delivery Technology, Amazon, said at the launch. “Now, Prime members can select in-home delivery and conveniently see their packages being delivered right from their mobile phones.”

Amazon Key debuted alongside the Amazon Cloud Cam, which the company revealed in another press release. The Amazon Key In-Home Kit, which includes the Amazon Cloud Cam and a smart lock compatible with the service, was available for preorder, starting at $249.99. Additionally, the Cloud Cam can interact with other smart home devices, like the Amazon Echo and Fire TV. Users can display the camera feed on any device with a screen.
