Network International, which helps enable digital commerce in the Middle East and Africa, has partnered with Amazon Payment Services to offer online payment solutions to merchants in the United Arab Emirates.

According to a Monday (Feb. 7) press release, the companies are working together to provide merchants with Amazon Payment Services’ gateway and services, which include EPP and enhanced fraud monitoring.

It also lets Amazon Payment Services benefit from Network International’s acquiring and settlement solutions.

Pankaj Kundra, group head of partnerships and acquiring with Network, said the company was “committed to enhancing the UAE’s payment ecosystem by enhancing the security and acceptance rates of digital payments.”

“We are happy to partner with a reputable Amazon brand such as Amazon Payment Services in the UAE,” Kundra said. “We look forward to working together with Amazon Payment Services to expand the fast-growing online market and support merchants looking to transition to eCommerce.”

Meanwhile, Peter George, managing director with Amazon Payment Services, said the goal was to keep offering convenient pay options.

“We are excited to be partnering with Network International, a market leader in Point of Sale and eCommerce payment solutions in the UAE,” George said. “The partnership is in line with Amazon Payment Services’ customer-oriented philosophy, as we are dedicated to offering convenient, seamless and secure digital payments to merchants and customers across as many platforms as possible, in as many markets as possible.”

Amazon is also expanding its ‘Just Walk Out’ initiative, PYMNTS wrote last month, which will add more frictionless checkout options to the Amazon Go locations — the newest planned location will be in Mill Creek, Washington, which is around 30 minutes away from Amazon’s home of Seattle.

The company said it thought locals and commuters would enjoy the convenience of being able to shop this way.

The checkout method involves scanning a code on the app when someone enters, picking items from the store shelves as usual and simply walking out. The selected items are then automatically charged to the shopper’s account.
