With a name like PYMNTS, you know we love credit card apps. We also enjoy watching the horserace as leading contenders in this field compete for the top spot.

In this latest monthly PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Credit Card Apps, some things have changed and some have remained the same. This time, there’s even a new player in this elite group. Let’s take a look and see what’s happening.

The Top 5

Still in the No. 1 spot is Capitol One Mobile. This has become this app’s usual seat in the rankings.

The runner-up spot, too, is held by an app that has been there for many months: Chase Mobile.

There’s a big change in the No. 3 spot, though, as Bank of America Mobile Banking climbs two spots from where it landed last month.

Racing right behind is Wells Fargo Mobile, which also moves up two spots to grab the fourth ranking.

With this activity going on, someone had to slip, and this month it’s Discover Mobile. This app steps down two spots but stays in the top tier at No. 5.

The Top 10

Similarly, Credit One Bank Mobile dips two spots and is now ranked sixth among this elite group of credit card apps.

Things start to settle down as we move to the No. 7 spot, which the American Express app holds as it did last month.

More action in the next spot, though, as the MySynchrony app moves up one level to take the eighth spot among this month’s top scorers.

The Cards — Mobile Wallet app is on the move, too, advancing one spot and resting at No. 9.

In the last spot among the top 10, we have a tie. The Barclays US mobile app dips two spots and lands here to remain among the top-rated contenders.

Sharing that spot is a new member of this elite group, PREMIER Credit Card. This app allows users to manage their First PREMIER Bank Credit Card on the go, and it’s now in the top 10 among the PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Credit Card Apps.
