Like shoppers scrambling for the last on-sale item in a physical store, coupon apps have been moving fast in our monthly rankings of contenders in this category.

As a result, the latest PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Coupon Apps has seen several apps switch positions or join the list after being absent. And, with some tie scores, the top 10 includes a total of 15 coupon apps.

Let’s take a closer look at the action.

The Top Five

Two contenders are sharing the No. 1 spot this month. With a tie score of 87, there’s Groupon, which steps up from the second ranking, and Honey Smart Shopping Assistant, which jumps up from third.

In the No. 2 spot, with a score of 82, there’s Rakuten Rewards, which was ranked fourth last month.

Moving up to third is Flipp, which was ranked two spots lower last time.

Continuing the pattern, GoodRx has gained two spots and now sits at No. 4.

Sharing the No. 5 spot in the rankings are two apps that have moved in different directions. With a tie score, there’s GasBuddy, which was ranked eighth last time, and Ibotta, which was ranked first.

The Top 10

There’s a lot of changing positions as well as tie scores in the second tier as well.

At No. 6, there’s Receipt Hog, which steps up one level from last time.

Racing up the ladder is ShopSavvy, which was ranked 10th last time but now holds the No. 7 spot.

Sharing the eighth spot in the rankings are three contenders with a tie score: Krazy Coupon Lady, Shopkick and Slickdeals. All three are new to the top 10 this month.

At No. 9, there’s another tie score. Checkout 51 joins the list this month, while RetailMeNot moves up from the 10th spot in last month’s rankings.

Closing out the top 10 is SmartSource Coupons, which is another contender joining the rankings this month.
