Register Today for the NAPCP Purchasing Card Basics Workshop

Because “Basics” Doesn’t Mean Easy, it Means Essential.

Monday, April 11, 2011
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Paris Las Vegas Hotel
Visit www.napcp.org/2011 for registration and complete details.

This popular course will provide an in-depth look at Purchasing Card program mechanics, establishing effective strategies and policies, understanding regulatory requirements (including changes to 1099 reporting), program implementation and management, and more. End-users and providers who have some experience, but would benefit from a thorough overview of Purchasing Card mechanics and key program components, are the ideal audience for this educational event.

In this daylong session, attendees will work interactively with other card and payment professionals and NAPCP staff to gain new ideas on how to:

Select a project team. Whether you’re forming a preliminary team to write a business case or expanding your P”‘Card staff, you’ll learn more about the roles, responsibilities and personal qualities necessary to create a cohesive and motivated team.

Choose an issuer. The same in-depth planning process applies whether you’re choosing an issuer for a brand new P”‘Card program or changing issuers for an established one. We’ll take you through the RFP process, where you’ll ask tough questions, evaluate answers and choose the best issuer for your organization.

Communicate and educate. Making the case for a P”‘Card program isn’t only a start-up activity, but an ongoing necessity for selling your program to everyone, from senior management to cardholders. We’ll talk about effective strategies for communicating policy, procedures and success every step of the way.

Build relationships with suppliers. Understanding and selling the economics and efficiencies of P”‘Card to suppliers is key to bringing them into your win-win circle. Take away new perspective on supplier requirements, data capture and the benefits of consolidation.

Measure performance. Performance metrics help you evaluate overall success, at the end of a pilot program or the launch of a new growth strategy. You’ll leave with a “watch list” of critical metrics that help you monitor progress and drive change to keep your program on track.

Define and enforce controls. Regulatory and tax compliance, and the prevention of fraud and misuse, are managed through program controls you define, implement and monitor. Learn how to use automated solutions and training to maintain the highest standards that lead to a well-managed, profitable program.

Workshop fee: $395 NAPCP members; $595 non-members
