This Year’s Gifts Will Be Bought On a Mobile Device

Google and Ipsos declare that this year will become the first “Nonline” season, when customers blur the boundaries between online and offline shopping for a smarter shopping experience. Holiday shoppers will research and purchase their gifts across different channels, driven by the need for lower prices.

Mobile shopping will be a big feature of this holiday too, with 16% of those owning a smartphone and 10% of those owning a tablet planning to make their purchases through those devices. Additionally four out of five tablet/mobile owners will use them to help them with holiday shopping, mainly to compare prices and to read reviews. Half of those who use tablets regularly actually plan to make their purchases through those devices.

This holiday season is predicted to be one of wary customers using different channels to find the best deal they can for their Christmas purchases. Read the full report here.
