Barclays Cited In Liberty Reserve Laundering Case

Barclays has been named in a more than 100-page indictment released by U.S. authorities in the ongoing case against digital currency service Liberty Reserve, Reuters reports. The bank hasn’t been accused of improper actions.

On page 45 of the document, the source notes that Arthur Budovsky, who founded Liberty Reserve, had a personal account with the bank, which he opened in 2009.

“Barclays can confirm it is co-operating with the investigation, following the notification it received from the authorities,” a spokesman for the bank told Reuters.
