Popular Bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox announced yesterday that all users who want to deposit or withdraw currencies using the service will need to have their accounts verified by two methods – a document that proves residence, and a photo ID.
“The Bitcoin market continues to evolve, as do regulations and conditions of compliance for Mt. Gox to continue bringing secure services to our customers,” the Tokyo-based company said in a statement.
In accordance with the new policy the company says it will add to its support staff, with the goal of processing account verifications in under two days time, according to Finextra.
