GE Preps IPO For Consumer Finance Arm

General Electric (GE) plans to exit retail lending by divesting its store credit card business, The Wall Street Journal reported on August 30.

The company is reportedly concerned about its exposure to banking. GE Capital is the fifth-largest bank in the U.S.
