Today in the FinTech Ukraine Daily: Hospitality Network OYO Offers Ukrainian Refugees Free Accommodations

OYO, the India-based hospitality technology platform, announced it would offer free accommodation to Ukraine refugees, The Economic Times reported.

The company said it has appealed to more than 600 Belvilla homeowners on its platform in Poland to open their homes to refugees.

“These stays will be free for refugees who cannot pay for them, and the costs will be borne by the company and its homeowners, who volunteer to host refugees,” OYO said in a statement.

In other news, Dunamu, the South Korean blockchain and FinTech company, has contributed $823,000 to the United Nations World Food Programme, the Rome-based international humanitarian organization. The donations will be used to support emergency operations in Ukraine, MirageNews.com reported.

The donations are expected to be used for food assistance and relief to people affected by the conflict in Ukraine and those who have fled to neighboring countries.

“We decided to donate to WFP, the world’s largest humanitarian organization that has the capacity to respond to emergencies within 72 hours, after hearing that WFP is aiming to support more than 3 million people in Ukraine who are in desperate need of food aid,” said Dunamu CEO Sirgoo Lee at the contribution signing, on Monday.
