REPAY has partnered with Green Dot to enable REPAY’s business clients to accept cash bill payments.

With this collaboration, the customers of REPAY’s clients will be able to pay bills with cash in person at more than 45,000 retail locations that are members of the Green Dot Network, the companies said in a Thursday (Dec. 14) press release.

“Offering our clients the ability to securely and efficiently accept cash payments will enable them to deliver additional bill payment options, driving customer satisfaction,” Jake Moore, executive vice president of consumer payments at REPAY, said in the release.

REPAY, a provider of vertically integrated payment solutions, has clients in the personal finance, auto finance, credit union, mortgage and other industries, according to the release.

Its new partner, Green Dot, has a network of more than 90,000 retail locations across the United States that offer cash-in and cash-out capabilities to consumers, the release said. Its partners in this network include Walmart, Walgreens, 7-Eleven, and CVS, and there is a Green Dot Network-affiliated store within three miles of 96% of the U.S. population.

This network provides consumers with the ability to access cash services safely and conveniently at a time when traditional banks are closing brick-and-mortar locations across the country, per the release.

“Enabling businesses to transact and provide customers with more options to pay bills and move money is core to our mission to give all people the power to bank seamlessly, affordably and with confidence,” Crystal Bryant-Minter, senior vice president of money movement at Green Dot, said in the release. “We’re proud to partner with REPAY to offer small businesses the functionality they need to expand financial access for their clients and customers.”

Green Dot Network locations meet the needs of consumers who prefer to make cash payments but find it difficult to do so when bank closures have created “financial deserts,” Jamison Jaworski, general manager-senior vice president of retail and Green Dot Network at Green Dot, told PYMNTS in an interview posted in February.

“We’re extending convenience to reduce those financial deserts in small towns and other places — and now you don’t have to make a special trip to make a payment,” Jaworski said. “You can now make those payments in the course of your daily life.”
