Walmart has added a late-night delivery option to its range of online pickup and delivery options.

With this new Late-Night Express Delivery offering, customers can now place their orders until 9:30 p.m., and Walmart guarantees delivery until 10 p.m., the retailer said in a Tuesday (Sept. 12) press release.

This extended delivery window allows individuals to address their last-minute requirements, whether it’s their children’s favorite gummy vitamins or a broken hairdryer that needs replacing, according to the press release. By offering Express Delivery during late hours, Walmart ensures that customers can rely on their services whenever they need them.

Late-night delivery has become increasingly popular in recent years, catering to busy individuals and families who need last-minute items delivered, the release said.

This is the latest addition to Walmart’s range of online pickup and delivery options.

Among these is the Live Shopper feature, a tool that enables real-time text communication with a personal shopper, creating a personalized and interactive online shopping experience, according to the press release. Customers can discuss substitutions or add items to their orders at the last minute.

Another feature offered by Walmart is On-Demand Delivery slots that allow customers to choose a time that suits their schedule, the release said whether they need the items later that day or early the next morning.

For those who require immediate delivery, the retailer offers Express Delivery, per the release. Walmart can deliver essential items within as little as 30 minutes and up to 90 minutes.

Walmart+ members can also take advantage of an even more luxurious delivery experience through the InHome service, according to the press release. This exclusive offering allows items to be delivered directly to customers’ fridges or placed on their countertops, providing a white-glove experience. InHome also offers pickup for customer returns, making the entire process seamless and hassle-free. This service is currently available in 46 markets.

The retailer reported in its most recent earnings materials that consumers are increasingly embracing digital channels to get their daily shopping done. Walmart’s weekly active digital users grew by more than 20%, the company said Aug. 17.
