Fixing Digital Identity Verification: Robots To The Rescue

Has the problem of fraud by identity theft gotten too big for humans to handle? Socure would say, “Yes.” That’s why the company is spearheading the movement to hand this job over to artificial intelligence (AI). Socure Founder Sunil Madhu and PYMNTS CEO Karen Webster will discuss this topic in an upcoming digital discussion taking place July 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM (EDT).

The Details

Ongoing, massive data breaches of personally identifiable information are undercutting traditional identity verification (IDV) approaches, because fraudsters now have access to all the same information as rightful consumers.

Traditional IDV follows human-built rule systems, which are limited by the ability of the humans involved. Man-made rules can also grow unwieldy and contradictory over time, making them less effective. Some vendors are moving in the right direction by leveraging machine learning to augment their existing rules engines. Yet, according to Socure, more is possible — and needed.

A more robust AI robot could leverage the full power of machine learning paired with massive data sets, drawing in data from online, offline and social sources. This is what Socure has endeavored to build with its Identity Verification Robot.

Join Socure Founder Sunil Madhu and PYMNTS CEO Karen Webster on July 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM (EDT) to learn about:

  • The current state of digital identity verification tools
  • Why and how machine learning models outperform human-built rules engines
  • Where new IDV tools, such as Socure’s Identity Verification Robot, must go further than their predecessors
  • The role of AI and machine learning in the ongoing battle against fraud
  • How to ensure AI and machine learning approaches comply with stringent regulatory requirements

Host: Karen Webster, CEO, PYMNTS

Guest: Sunil Madhu, Founder, Socure
