Plaid Raises Millions For Banking API

Plaid, a San Francisco-based API for banking data, has raised $2.8 million in new capital as part of its seed funding round, VentureBeat reported on September 19.

“Financial technology has always had significant barriers to entry, and by simplifying the infrastructure we’re helping developers transform the way businesses and consumers use their financial data,” founder Zach Perret told the news source.

Plaid’s platform allows developers to integrate with data from financial institutions so that they can build better applications and become more developer-friendly.

Spark Capital led the round. Felicis Ventures, Homebrew Capital, Google Ventures and NEA also participated. For more on Plaid and its mission, click here.
