Microsoft and Cognizant have partnered to expand the adoption of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) solutions by enterprises.
The companies aim to make Microsoft’s GenAI and Copilots available to millions of users, they said in a Monday (April 22) press release.
Cognizant, a provider of digital transformation services, will work to deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot to its clients across 11 industries, according to the release.
“We’re committed to helping them harness the power of generative AI at scale, and Microsoft Copilot is a proven tool that can bring transformative gains, unlocking talent and potential in ways we can only imagine,” Ravi Kumar S, CEO at Cognizant, said in the release.
Cognizant is already using Microsoft’s GenAI technology with its healthcare administration platform, Trizetto, according to the release. This solution helps payers and providers reduce hidden costs and enable better patient outcomes.
Together, in this new partnership, Cognizant and Microsoft will use Copilot Studio to develop new Copilots that are specific to industries and business functions, the release said. They will prioritize several sectors, including retail and consumer goods, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, communications and media.
In some existing deployments of GenAI technology enabled by Cognizant, a media company is using the technology to translate and localize its content, a manufacturing company is using it to help field technicians solve problems, an education services provider is using it to deliver personalized digital content, and a communication provider is using GenAI to streamline and automate its core business processes, per the release
“Our expanded partnership with Cognizant will help organizations harness generative AI to transform business operations, enhance employee experiences and deliver new value for customers,” Judson Althoff, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Microsoft, said in the release.
Microsoft began the rollout of Copilot for consumers in September 2023 and for enterprises in November 2023, saying the AI-powered assistant will transform how users interact with technology.
It was reported in November that Microsoft 365 Copilot could generate more than $10 billion in annualized revenue for the tech giant by 2026.
