Firstmark Credit Union Taps Lumin Digital For Banking Technology

Firstmark Credit Union (Firstmark) has chosen PSCU company Lumin Digital to offer online and mobile digital banking to over 60,000 users when the credit union (CU) launches on the platform next month. Firstmark is a long-time PSCU partner and has inked a multi-year deal for Lumin Digital’s cloud-native system, according to a Thursday (March 18) announcement emailed to PYMNTS.

“In a year of crisis, consumers used online channels in record numbers, resulting in an era of digital transformation across all industries,” Firstmark President and CEO Nathanael Tarwasokono said in the announcement. “To quickly position our credit union for this pronounced shift, we accelerated previous plans to enhance our digital channels, and we believe Lumin Digital will be the right partner to provide scalable technology, seamless integration and a customized member experience.”

Firstmark, which was established in San Antonio, Texas, in 1932, presently has almost 100,000 members and more than $1 billion in assets. The CU has a complete collection of financial products and services to assist members in attaining financial wellness. It is dedicated to providing offerings that are easy, safe and intelligent, according to the announcement.

“Firstmark was seeking an experienced and proven digital banking partner,” Lumin Digital President Jeff Chambers said in the announcement. “They’re committed to providing members with personalized digital experiences that seamlessly integrate into their products and services, and most importantly, they want that journey to the new platform to be a smooth one. We are proud they found that in Lumin and look forward to partnering with the Firstmark team to deliver an amazing member experience.”

As PYMNTS previously reported in the Credit Union Innovation Study, a joint effort with PSCU, digital banking has become the way of the world. More individuals than ever before are banking on the mobile-optimized websites and apps of their financial institutions (FIs) during the continuing pandemic, turning digital innovation into a leading priority for CUs, banks and FinTechs.
