Walmart Launches Online Wellness Hub

Walmart on Thursday (March 10) announced in a company blog post that it’s now offering BetterUp for Caregivers and Easy Vitamin Plan subscriptions to customers across the U.S. through its Wellness Hub.

BetterUp for Caregivers gives caregivers access to live group coaching circles, led by a professional BetterUp coach, and includes customized tools and community support. More than 50 million Americans are caregivers, up from 43 million in 2015, the company said, citing AARP figures.

Meanwhile, Easy Vitamin Plan is partnering with Walmart to offer personalized 28-day vitamin subscription plans to Walmart customers.

Walmart customers also have access to more than 50 lab-quality tests through the Wellness Hub, including COVID-19, digestive health, allergy, heart health and more with professional support and guidance from QuestDirect, per the announcement.

“We are committed to making wellness more accessible for our customers by offering a wide range of essential products and services at an incredible value,” Walmart U.S. Health and Wellness Merchandising Senior Vice President Julie Barber wrote in the blog post.

“As a trusted health and wellness destination, we have worked hard to expand our assortment and services to ensure we’re meeting customers’ evolving needs,” she wrote. “With the launch of these services, we are building on the commitments and investments we’ve made over the past several years, and we will continue expanding our offerings to best serve our customers’ health and wellness needs.”

Last month, Walmart U.S. President and CEO John Furner told analysts “the health business was our fastest-growing comp business in Q4.” The company acquired telehealth platform MeMD in 2021 to strengthen its position with a connected and accessible “omnicare” model.

Walmart also partnered with electronic health record (EHR) systems provider Epic last year to “engage patients, health care professionals, insurance carriers and other stakeholders while enhancing communication, personalization and information sharing amongst health care professionals and patients utilizing a patient portal,” according to a press release.

Through its Walmart+ program, Walmart launched its “Rx for Less” offering last year.
