Latest Telemedicine Provider Ranking Checkup (Mostly) A Picture Of Health

telehealth app

As PYMNTS recently reported, digital healthcare startups scooped up close to $15 billion in the first half of 2021 from many venturous venture capitalists. We’d call that a trend worth following.

Fact is that telehealth is in full flight after taxiing for rather a long time. Not even a conclusive end to the threat of COVID-19 and its variants is likely to slow the sector’s momentum now.

Which brings us to PYMNTS latest Provider Ranking of Telemedicine Apps. While certain apps have risen to the top of the charts and seem to be putting down roots there, that’s a dicey assumption with all that venture capital looking for the next (ahem) “killer app” in telemedicine.

Hold that thought as we do the rounds with ranking residents.

The Top 5

At No. 1 for another month, it’s MyTeleMed, with virtual healthcare company Teladoc at No. 2.

No changes. Yet. For example, it’s still Doctor On Demand steady at No. 3.

The K Health | Primary Care app similarly sticks to its spot at No. 4. Dull as the playlist in dull doctor’s office (no offense). Maybe we need help, so it’s somehow comforting that the BetterHelp: Online Counseling & Therapy app remains at No. 5, just in case.

That closes out a totally unchanged Top 5. It’s not the same story below the line, however.

The Top 10

We kick it off with a tie at No. 6 between the InTouch Patient app elevating an impressive three chart positions since last cycle to end up sharing a virtual exam room with MDLIVE, down a spot this month but clearly staying competitive.

At No. 7 this month the Vsee Clinic For Patient app drops a spot.

Different story at No. 8 where LiveHealth Online Mobile climbs two chart positions from the last update. How very lively.

Canada presents as a ranking regular, Maple — 24/7 Online Doctors, falls a spot to No. 9 this cycle and stays in the game. And isn’t that the point of these rankings?

A new name, or least a reappearing one, materializes as the PlushCare: Online Doctor app enters the Provider Ranking of Telemedicine Apps Top 10 at No. 10 this go around.

Is that $15 billion in VC money more in focus? No? Maybe you need a virtual vision checkup. We are always first to say, “there’s a telemedicine app for that.” And there is. See you soon.
