Restaurant.com Launches New Mobile App With Reviews and Discounts

Millennials 62% Likelier Than Others to Want Super Apps

Restaurant.com has launched a new mobile app that helps users explore, discover and enjoy a wide selection of dining options.

The new app provides access to top-rated restaurants and exclusive deals, the digital marketing site for restaurants said in a Thursday (July 27) press release.

“Our app is designed to empower users with the ability to embark on unique gastronomic journeys, discover hidden gems and save money while doing so,” Restaurant.com said in the release. “It’s a win-win for both diners and restaurant partners.”

The app provides intelligent recommendations based on the user’s dining preferences and past experiences, instant reservations that can be made with a few taps, and real-time reviews from fellow food enthusiasts, according to the release.

It also offers access to exclusive offers and discounts that are available only through the app, the release said.

The Restaurant.com app is available for download on iOS and Android devices and can be accessed via the App Store and Google Play Store.

“By seamlessly blending technology and culinary expertise, the app bridges the gap between discerning food enthusiasts and exceptional restaurants,” the company said in the release.

PYMNTS research has found that technology is now a critical part of the restaurant experience, and its importance continues to grow.

Restaurants have discovered how digital tools and modern solutions can help streamline business operations and meet consumers’ growing appetite for seamless experiences, according to “Inflation Puts Technology on the Menu for Restaurants,” the June edition of the “B2B and Digital Payments Tracker Series,” a PYMNTS and American Express collaboration.

The report also found that more than 146 million Americans now order digitally in some way, whether via restaurant app, website or aggregator tool.

In another development in the restaurant space, aggregator DoorDash announced July 18 that it has partnered with point-of-sale (POS) integration solution providers ItsaCheckmate and Deliverect to make it easier for merchants to get on the DoorDash marketplace.

Another application of digital tools was reported July 10, when restaurant customer experience platform Tattle launched a receipt-scanning feature that enables eateries to improve their analytics by harnessing item-level data.
