Ingenico Combines Loyalty And Payments

The European provider of payment solutions is announcing the launch of a loyalty tool for retailers and restaurants. It will allow these retailers to interact with their customers via smartphone, websites and in-store. Ingenico’s Next Generation platform and smartphone application combines loyalty, gifting, promotion management and secure payments across multi-channel retail environments including web, POS, mobile POS and self-service kiosks.

Pierre-Antoine Vacheron, Executive Vice President and Managing Director Europe-Sepa at Ingenico, commented: “Mobile technology is revolutionizing the retail experience for both businesses and consumers. Many leading retail brands are already using the very latest mobile point of sale technology to eliminate long lines, reduce lost sales from long waits, and target their customers with relevant offers. This latest application from Ingenico will set a new benchmark for retailers wishing to take advantage of the very latest in mobile point of sale technology, whilst ensuring full compliance with all payment regulations and standards. With minimal set-up effort required, it’s a genuine ‘plug in and play solution’ that can deliver real bottom line results for our customers.”

This solution will be the first to combine payments and loyalty schemes and its mobile application will further extend the customers’ shopping experience with geo-location services. These services allow retailers to provide targeted offers to consumers compliant with local laws and based on, for example, spend history, store preferences and behaviours; and allows consumers locate their nearest store and to find offers local and relevant to their needs. Ingenico’s solution allows consumers to opt in or out of these services at any time, ensuring the retailer is compliant with local privacy laws. The platform and smartphone application can be used by retailers as a standalone module or combined with existing self-ordering application such as ‘click and collect’ use cases.

Ingenico will be working with its loyalty services division easycash Loyalty Solutions to roll out the product. To date easycash Loyalty Solutions runs more than 90 card programmes and has issued over 60 million loyalty and prepaid cards making it one of Europe’s leading providers of consumer based services.
