MasterCard Adds Madrid, Stockholm To Priceless Cities Program

Ever wanted to dine on traditional Spanish tapas before getting tickets to a night show for Madrid’s classic opera? Or learn how to bake bread with a famous Swedish baker? MasterCard’s Priceless program is giving cardholders the opportunity to do just that and more continuing the expansion of its MasterCard Priceless platform, adding Stockholm and Madrid as its two newest partnering cities.

Launched first in 2011, MasterCard’s Priceless Cities platform is now available in more than 20 cities around the world, including London, New York, Sydney, Rio and many more. The two new European locations will now offer discounted experiences for cardholders living or visiting each country.

Priceless Madrid will give customers access to exclusive activities in the Spanish capital. The program will include offers in six different categories: Culture, arts, entertainment, shopping, sports and travel. Many of the experiences offered the Priceless Madrid are private or exclusive to participating members. MasterCard has teamed up with partners to provide events such as museum passes, tickets to the opera, personal shopping advice, sports games, concerts and VIP access to some of the events.

Jorge Moreno, MasterCard’s marketing manager for Spain and Portugal stated in a press release, “Two of Madrid’s most endearing features are its lively social scene and the wide range of leisure activities. MasterCard holders can discover and experience the city of Madrid in a new and different way thanks to some of its personalities, events, venues and institutions.”

The other city opening its doors to the Priceless program is Stockholm. Cardholders registered in Sweden and other surrounding Nordic countries will also be given the opportunity to indulge in the city’s most coveted activities and attractions.

“MasterCard has worked hard to understand Stockholmers and we know that spending time with friends and family and experiencing the unexpected and unusual are key ingredients in making our lives a little more ‘priceless,’” said Pernilla Winberg Babtist, head of marketing at MasterCard Nordic and Baltic Region.

MasterCard surveyed residents who were familiar with the Swedish capital, and asked them what they thought was valuable in life or passions that Swedish people had. MasterCard noted local’s responses to incorporate Priceless experiences, such as cooking with renowned Swedish chefs.

The program has joined with local partners to give cardholders several other offers such as tickets to Beyonce’s world tour, the UEFA Champions League or the BRIT Awards.

Both MasterCard Priceless Stockholm and Priceless Madrid are available starting April 25, 2013.
