PayPal, Lenovo, Nok Nok Labs and Validity, the founding members of Fast Identify Online (FID), are currently developing specifications for FIDO-complaint products.
FIDO standards will replace passwords with authentication methods, such as biometrics, voice and facial recognition and existing solutions to create a more secure form of identity confirmation. FIDO was first formed in July 2012, notes The Paypers.
