Mozido/Verifone Bring NFC Payments To Indonesia

Mozido is expanding its mobile footprint — this time to Indonesia.

The digital payment and commerce solutions provider announced today (Dec. 3) the launch of NFC mobile payment and loyalty services for Telkomsel Indonesia through a partnership with Verifone Mobile Money and financial services provider Finnet Indonesia.

Through this new deal, Mozido will power Telkomsel’s NFC-based TWallet app for 140 million subscribers through the service that allows them to tap and pay using a mobile device at participating merchants. Mozido will also enable those merchants with a mobile coupon management system that gives them the ability to sync their own branded coupons with TWallet consumers. Participating merchants include McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Baskin Robbins, 7 Eleven, Cinema XXI, GraPARI, Alfamart and Indomaret.

Prior to this deal, TWallet’s mobile money service only allowed consumers to check account balances, pay bills, conduct airtime top-up, P2P transfers, and view transaction history. By adding Mozido’s NFC mobile payments wallet capabilities, those accountholders can now use services using the mobile wallet app. Mozido was able to connect users with Indonesia’s banks nationwide through its partnership with Finnet Indonesia.

“Indonesia’s 255 million people are ready for mobile solutions that enable payments, financial inclusion, and consumer engagement. Mozido is privileged to quickly expand our presence in this important region by powering TWallet for Telkomsel’s 140 million subscribers,” said Michael Liberty, Mozido’s founder. “We look forward to working with Telkomsel to bring unprecedented levels of convenience and consumer engagement through mobile payment and marketing services for consumers and merchants.”

Mozido solutions work with virtually any wireless carrier and mobile device, and is designed to integrate with ads, offers, and other products from third parties. Mozido’s global presence and offerings include operations in the U.S., China, India, Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe and Latin America.
