Basware Weaves T&E Tools Into E-Invoicing Service

As one of the most prominent providers of e-invoicing services, Basware has made a name for itself touting the benefits of electronic procurement mandates for both governments and businesses around the globe and has struck partnerships to make help implement those strategies.

The efforts have given Basware an international reputation. The firm’s latest venture in travel and expense management, then, seems a natural fit for a business servicing the world.

Reports published Tuesday (June 23) revealed that Basware has launched a new mobile- and tablet-compatible service for T&E management. The Travel and Expense Management solution’s expanded offerings mean business travelers can more easily digitize receipts and submit or approve expense reports while on the go.

As a cloud-based solution, Basware said that the mobile adoption of its T&E tools lets travelers save time and generate expense reports when and where they want to. “Cloud and mobile are two of the mega-trends that are changing the way everyone does business — but they only get take-up on a wide scale once they are user-friendly for the masses,” said Basware SVP of Products and Services Ilari Nurmi. “Our updated user experience lets us embrace those trends, to give employees a faster, friendlier and more flexible solution for claiming expenses.”

While the tool is clearly beneficial to the corporate traveler, businesses and travel management officials can also gain from the solution by more accurately tracking company cash flow, Nurmi added.

But the new mobile services won’t operate apart from Basware’s existing services. According to the company, the T&E tool is an addition to the Basware Alusta platform, which already provides a cloud-based interface for purchase-to-pay and e-invoicing for business users. Adding mobile T&E services to the platform makes for a more holistic solution for corporations that need to manage their expenses and seamlessly move cash.

“Making the submission process easy and user-friendly for the employee is important,” Nurmi said, “but we’re also bringing our e-invoicing and payments expertise to this process to benefit businesses further.”
