Katanox, Oracle Hospitality Team to Connect Hoteliers, Travel Sellers

Katanox, Oracle Hospitality Team for Travel

B2B marketplace for travel accommodations and sellers Katanox has integrated with hospitality management platform Oracle Hospitality to let clients reach travel sellers more easily, according to a press release.

The new partnership will allow hotels and similar companies to distribute inventories directly with new travel sellers, the release stated.

The tie-up “enhances each company’s offerings” and assists accommodation suppliers in controlling their own businesses and selling rooms, according to the release. That’s a step up from keeping them dependent on B2B hospitality distribution players.

“Building our first integration with Oracle as the largest global provider of hospitality solutions will open up the market to more than 38,000 properties to start developing their automated distribution strategy and teams,” said Katanox Co-Founder and Head of Product Imre Vogelezang in the release.

The pandemic exposed weaknesses in old distribution channels for hoteliers, the release stated. Accommodation suppliers must depend less on global distribution systems (GDSs), wholesalers and big booking platforms. There’s a need for a solid, decentralized distribution network that lets hotels and other travel sellers offer customized pricing and easier booking.

In other news, the hospitality industry has seen a new shift as cash use falls. The change can be seen in mass digitization, both in the front and back offices of restaurants, hotels and more.
