TreviPay Partners With Mastercard to Expand B2B Payments Network

TreviPay has partnered with Mastercard to add a Universal Acceptance solution to its B2B payments and invoicing network.

This solution aims to expand supplier access to TreviPay’s payments and invoicing technology, allowing them to offer net terms or trade credit financing, as well as SKU-level invoicing, to business buyers, the companies said in a Tuesday (Jan. 16) press release.

The Universal Acceptance solution is designed to solve three of the top pain points for global business buyers: inefficient processes, incorrect invoicing and slow onboarding, according to the release. It’s also meant to enable a preferred payment option among business buyers: trade credit.

With TreviPay’s Universal Acceptance solution, suppliers who already accept credit cards can easily offer net-terms financing to qualified buyers, the release said. This solution automates the buyer onboarding, financing and accounts receivable (AR) process, streamlining back-office operations and driving payment efficiencies.

By leveraging Mastercard’s global acceptance network and commercial card payment capabilities, TreviPay enables suppliers to provide approved buyers with a net-terms card for purchasing, per the release. This offers the convenience of a credit card checkout, along with the auditability and purchase controls of trade credit.

The TreviPay platform automatically delivers invoices directly to the buyer, eliminating the costs associated with chasing outstanding or late payments, according to the release. TreviPay assumes all risk associated with collection and guarantees settlement to the merchant upfront.

The Universal Acceptance solution can be implemented for suppliers in two ways: through the original application programming interface (API) integration of the TreviPay platform directly into the seller’s point of acceptance or by leveraging Mastercard’s global acceptance network without API integration, the release said.

This introduction of this solution follows TreviPay’s launch of the Financial Partner Gateway in October. The Financial Partner Gateway is a suite of APIs that allows financial institutions to expand their commercial offerings, providing automated AR, underwriting and trade credit management solutions to their large commercial clients.

“Working together, the Financial Partner Gateway enables banks to deliver a significant value-add for enterprises while allowing TreviPay to expand its global footprint through modern API-based software,” VP of Strategic Partnerships Michael Noble said at the time of the launch.

The new Universal Acceptance solution complements this offering, further expanding TreviPay’s global footprint and optimizing the payment experience for suppliers, according to the Tuesday press release.
