Shopping and delivery company Shipt is teaming up with digital commerce solution provider Wynshop (formerly ThryveAI) to launch a fully integrated solution for local grocers to offer same-day delivery.

The collaboration will have Shipt deliver orders made through grocers’ digital storefronts on Wynshop’s platform. The partnership is intended to make it easy for local supermarkets to offer their customers the convenience of direct ordering combined with delivery as fast as one hour.

“Wynshop is committed to helping local store-based grocers deliver unique and compelling online experiences to amplify customer loyalty,” Neil Moses, CEO of Wynshop, said in a Thursday (Dec. 9) press release.

Moses pointed to Shipt’s excellent record for customer service and its wide community of shoppers that reach “80% of U.S. households,” which makes Shipt the ideal associate for fast, local delivery.

“Together, we’re bringing an efficient fulfillment solution and the fastest delivery option to the local level, giving grocers the tools they need to own their digital businesses, build a customer community and scale up profitably,” Moses said.

The partnership gives shoppers the convenience of placing orders directly with their local supermarket and having groceries brought to their doorstep in as little as one hour. Grocery stores benefit by having access to advanced eCommerce functionality that offers multiple fulfillment solutions integrated on a single platform.

Rina Hurst, chief business officer at Shipt, said the partnership offers a way for local grocers to “scale their fulfillment options” in a way that is flexible and dependable.

“We’ll be able to offer Wynshop’s partners access to a community of Shipt Shoppers, who are committed to going above and beyond to make sure every order is exactly right and delivered quickly,” Hurst said. “Between offering Shipt’s marketplace for incremental sales and supporting the growing desire for a grocer to also have their own eCommerce website, we’re focused on meeting and supporting grocers where they are in their delivery journey.”

Wynshop works with United Supermarkets, Wakefern and other supermarkets, and plans to incorporate Shipt’s same-day delivery early in 2022. Shipt is available to 80% of households in over 5,000 U.S. cities.
