Secondhand clothing eCommerce platform Vinted has debuted a B2B digital shipping platform, part of Vinted Go, the shipping service the Lithuanian company rolled out in June.
According to a Wednesday (July 13) report by Fashion United, the service is available for domestic and cross-border deliveries across Europe, with an emphasis on PUDO (pick-up, drop-off) deliveries, which have lower carbon emissions than in-home delivery.
The platform also gives customers access to Vinted’s network of national and international shipping carriers in 14 countries.
The report said Vinted’s shipping service will support a standard delivery time of 2 to 3 working days for local delivery and 3 to 5 working days for international deliveries. It’s geared toward companies shipping small to medium items and consumer products. It’s also not just in the fashion sector; they will also ship household products, equipment for sports or hobbies and home office supplies.
“Our team is connecting the fragmented shipping infrastructure through our network of carriers and delivery partners, and our new solution offers an affordable and more convenient delivery option,” said Vinted Vice President Vytautas Atkočaitis. “As a digital business, our goal is to make international e-commerce as smooth as possible, and today marks an important milestone towards that aspiration.”
In February, Vinted signed a five-year deal with European eCommerce delivery provider InPost Group, making InPost one of its shipping partners in the U.K., Poland, Italy, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
InPost has a cross-border network of 35,000 out-of-home delivery sites, which lets Vinted members choose when they pick up their deliveries at its automated parcel machine (APM) lockers and other locations.
Vinted has upwards of 50 million members in 13 European countries, the U.S. and Canada, while InPost has more than 20,000 parcel lockers in Poland, the U.K. and Italy. The company also offers courier and fulfillment services for more than 40,000 Polish eCommerce merchants.
