Bottomline Technologies Launches AI Chat For Paymode-X

Artificial intelligence chat support

FinTech provider Bottomline Technologies announced that it has added artificial intelligence- (AI) enabled chat inside its payment solutions for its Paymode-X and PTX customers.

Bottomline is partnering with Drift, a conversational marketing platform, to provide businesses in North America with AI-enabled chat that offers live support for customers enrolling to be paid electronically by virtual card and ACH through Paymode-X, as well as support for those enrolling to be paid electronically by virtual card and ACH via Paymode-X. In Europe, Bottomline’s PTX customers will receive live customer support from within the solution, even during off-hours.

“At Bottomline, we are always looking for innovative ways to delight our customers with world-class service,” Bill Wardwell, vice president of strategy and product, Bottomline Technologies, said in an emailed press release. “By providing AI-driven chat support, we’re interacting with customers in the way they have grown accustomed to in their consumer lives, addressing questions in real-time, and accelerating business results.”

Headquartered in Portsmouth, N.H., Bottomline has offices across the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific, helping make complex business payments simple, smart, and secure for corporations and banks.

Drift's use of artificial intelligence ensures that customers are able to receive the help they need immediately. Bottomline first launched Drift through its website last year as a way to engage with customers visiting its website. Since July 2018, Drift has driven nearly 7,000 chats, with Bottomline’s Paymode-X and PTX reaching hundreds of thousands of businesses in both North American and Europe.

“Our goal at Drift is to put the customer at the center of everything we do, and help our customers do the same,” said David Cancel, founder and CEO of Drift. “We’re thrilled that Bottomline is using our platform to meet their customers where they are and ensure conversations are frictionless, enjoyable and human.”

“We’re excited to be at the leading edge of customer service, sales, and marketing using the Drift platform,” said Wardwell.
