Square Launches Loyalty, Marketing Products in Ireland

Square launched a pair of software products that will help businesses in Ireland increase their sales and build customer loyalty in a few clicks, according to a Thursday (March 10) company press release.

Square Marketing and Square Loyalty are now available as separate subscriptions for Irish businesses.

“It’s been a challenging couple of years for businesses, and it’s more important than ever for sellers to stand out from competitors and see the impact on their business,” said Stephen Smythe, head of EU marketing at Square.

“We’re coming up to one year since launching in Ireland and have seen great demand for products like Square Loyalty and Square Marketing from our sellers,” he said. “We’re delighted to be launching them into such an innovative and entrepreneurial market.”

Square Marketing “allows businesses to create, send and track email marketing campaigns in minutes,” ranging from one-time email campaigns to personalized automations. The tool will help businesses to expand their customer reach and use analytics to secure business insights.

Meanwhile, Square Loyalty “can help turn one-time visitors into regulars and increase repeat visits,” the company press release said. It includes a customized loyalty program that rewards customers both in-store and online.

Square Loyalty and Square Marketing join Square Point of Sale, Square Online and Digital Gift Cards in the company’s suite of products for Irish businesses.

In January, Square debuted a buy now, pay later (BNPL) product with Afterpay for Square Online for eCommerce customers in the U.S. and Australia after completing its long-discussed and much-hyped acquisition.

This allows Square sellers to offer Afterpay’s BNPL product and get more customers. Almost 56% of American consumers have used a BNPL service, the company’s announcement said, and younger demographics, like Generation Z and millennials, make up 75% of BNPL users.

Square sellers will be able to access Afterpay for no extra cost until May 10.
