Contact lens subscription company Hubble Contacts has named a former 1-800-Flowers.com executive, Steve Druckman, to serve as the firm’s chief executive officer, according to a Monday (June 28) announcement.

The CEO spot had previously been held jointly by Hubble co-founders Benjamin Cogan and Jesse Horwitz. They will both stay on the firm’s board of directors.

“Steve Druckman is a true visionary and pioneer in direct-to-consumer online commerce, and we’re ecstatic to have him join our team to lead us to the next level,” Horwitz said in the announcement.

Druckman comes to Hubble from 1-800-Flowers.com, where he served in the role of president of gourmet foods and gift baskets and headed up a number of brands that were purchased and owned by the firm.

The executive has almost three decades of experience in “management, consulting, and consumer and business-to-business marketing,” according to the announcement.

In the past, Druckman served as chief marketing officer at online grocer FreshDirect. He also previously served as In the Swim’s CEO.

“My focus is on driving growth and profitability, working with companies to expand into new markets, create new offerings, and ensure the best possible customer experience,” Druckman said in the announcement. “As a regulated industry, we have the added responsibility to be super vigilant and transparent about compliance, and I am fully committed to making sure that Hubble operates according to the highest standards in our industry.”

In separate news, Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) recently hired an executive away from Walmart and an executive from Wayfair to speed up growth of its digital business.

Jill Pavlovich, who served as Wayfair’s general manager and head of exclusive brands and merchandising, was named BBBY’s senior vice president, digital commerce.

In addition, Jake Griffith, who served as Walmart’s general manager for sports and fitness, was named BBBY’s vice president, product management.

The two executives were to report to BBBY Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Rafeh Masood.
