Global payments platform Flywire Corporation on Wednesday (Feb. 23) integrated with Adapt IT Education, a division of Adapt IT Holdings Limited, to digitize cross-border education payments for students in South Africa, according to a joint announcement.
Flywire, the exclusive international payments partner for Adapt IT, will “improve the payment experience for students and their families and the institutions that use Adapt IT software,” the joint announcement said.
Customers who integrate directly with Adapt IT’s ITS Integrator student management system will see improved operational efficiencies and lower administrative burden from international tuition payments within the interface.
More than 45,000 international students study in South Africa each academic year across its 26 public universities and 50 TVET colleges, according to study abroad consulting firm StudyLink.
“We considered various payment partners, but Flywire was the standout for international payment enablement,” said Luxolo Rubushe, managing director of Adapt IT Education, in the announcement. “The combination of Flywire’s innovative global payment platform and powerful software easily integrates into our system, creating immense benefits for both students and our clients.”
When customers embed Flywire’s payment gateway into Adapt IT’s ITS Integrator student management system, students can more easily make payments for their education in their local currency with low exchange rates, online payment tracking and customer service.
