TravelCenters of America Debuts Fleet Card Payment Program

TravelCenters of America, which operates the TA, Petro Stopping Centers and TA Express, has rolled out TA Fleet Universal, a fleet card payment program, a press release said.

This card can be used at all 275 TA, Petro and TA Express travel centers and at various truck stops and retail fueling centers where WEX network cards are taken.

The cardholders will see benefits like fuel and product discounts, along with other perks.

“The TA Fleet Universal Credit Card program increases driver convenience and supports our commitment to enhance the guest experience nationwide,” said Jon Pertchik, chief executive officer of TravelCenters of America. “Engaging with WEX’s powerful global platform allows us to provide professional drivers a competitive, quality program with many benefits and purchasing options when visiting us.”

WEX senior vice president of OTR Americas, Tim Hampton, said the idea was to keep innovating.

“We have a nearly four-decade history of serving the transportation industry and are committed to working with industry leaders like TravelCenters of America to continue to bring new technologies to market that will help businesses and commercial fleets simplify their operations and run more efficiently.”

In January, WEX and Bestpass, which provides toll management for commercial fleets, teamed to roll out a new product.

The idea is to give WEX’s OTR customers the option to pay with a WEX card instead of prepaying into tolling accounts. The idea is to simplify the toll process.

Hampton said the Bestpass partnership will give customers the opportunity to make use of new payment tech to manage tolls.

“Paying only for accrued tolls frees up valuable capital to reallocate elsewhere within a fleet.”

Meanwhile, Bestpass CEO Tom Fogarty said this will provide more convenience for customers.

WEX also debuted a collaboration with ChargePoint, an electric vehicle charging network, last year, which was intended to provide more seamless integration for mixed fleets.
