Android Accounts For Nearly 80 Percent Of Mobile Malware In 2012

Android accounted for 79 percent of all malware in 2012, up from 66.7 percent in 2011 and 11.25 percent in 2010, according to an f-secure report.

Symbian came in second place among processors, responsible for 19 percent of malware, while iOS and J2Me finished with 0.7 percent each. Android malware saw a particular boom in Q4 2012, when it accounted for a whopping 96 percent of all mobile device attacks, reports TechCrunch.
