KFC customers in the U.K. can already order through a mobile device; now, they can pay for it the same way -- without even having to touch, tap or scan at the counter.
The company is integrating a feature into its mobile app that will allow customers to pick up a completed order by automatically paying from the same mobile device that they ordered from.
Developed by U.K.-based Judo Payments, the addition to KFC's mobile offering is being touted as having more of an impact in stores. With this new feature, a customer can walk into a store with the app open and purchase his food directly from it without having to wait in line or pay using cash or card. Functionality includes auto-refresh of the customer's balance.
