TRRIGR Launches On-Demand Laundry App For iPhone And iPod In New York

TRRIGR, a new on-demand laundry and dry cleaning service, launched an app for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch Monday (June 15) in New York.

The company said in a release announcing the new app that New Yorkers will now be able to select local businesses to create custom orders encompassing pickup and delivery of dry cleaning and laundry – and of course pass along special instructions for the cleaning itself.

Cleaners are rated by fellow app users, and detailed ordering instructions can include a number of factors, such as bleach, softener, and orders that colors be separated.

Drop-off and pickups can be scheduled across multiple locations, with convenience centered on the user. The cleaner can pick up clothing from one location and drop off at another venue, such as the gym or office. Points accrue to users, who can redeem earned points for discounts.

All payments are made through the app itself, including tips for service, and TRRIGR says safe processing is done through PayPal’s Braintree payments processing platform.

At present, there are 15 participating cleaners working with the app across Manhattan and the company plans to add as many as 10 new cleaners each week. TRRIGR says it has also established a partnership with the Korean Dry Cleaners Association, a chapter that includes more than 2,000 members across New York.

The app integrates through a secure vendor portal and IVR system. The cleaners themselves receive tools via TRRIGR to accept and then track customer progress via mobile device or computer.

The new program is available through the App Store, and launches first in Manhattan, with plans to expand to the other boroughs through the rest of the summer.

“New Yorkers are used to being able to manage their lives through their smartphones, but it’s been unrealistic for a single cleaner to integrate technology to meet that demand,” said Joe Tillman, TRRIGR’s founder, in the statement. “We’ve created a solution that fits into users’ lives, and that’s affordable and accessible for cleaners. It’s a win for everyone: consumers get convenience and ease, while cleaners get new business opportunity, in the form of new and more frequent customers.”

Additionally, TRRIGR will launch across 1o other major U.S. cities in the coming year, including Houston, Los Angeles and Chicago.
