The new Egencia AI connector in Claude enables users to do perform these tasks within a tool they already use, Amex GBT said in a Monday (July 27) press release.

The integration allows a travel to ask Claude to look at their calendar for the next month, provide travel itineraries and help book the required travel within policy, according to the release.

“With our Egencia AI connector in Claude, an employee or an enterprise AI agent can now search, book and manage air and hotel for a traveler within policy, personalized and backed by our marketplace, while benefiting from being wholly within their existing Claude enterprise environment,” Amex GBT Chief Product and Strategy Officer Evan Konwiser said in the release.

This connector is Amex GBT’s first deployment of its proprietary agent-to-agent architecture that integrates full travel management company services inside any AI environment, the release said.

Amex GBT also announced in the release that Egencia’s conversational AI will be available in Google Chat for early adopter customers in August and to all customers by the end of the year, and that a conversational AI pilot in Microsoft Teams for Neo customers in currently in pilot.

“No matter what solution you’re on, Amex GBT intelligence is available to you,” John Sturino, senior vice president of product and engineering at Amex GBT, said in the release.

The PYMNTS Intelligence report “The AI On-Ramp: Data Shows How Everyday Tasks Build Consumer Habits” found that among AI adopters, finding product links is a high-usage AI task, and researching and comparing products is a mid-usage AI task.

Amex GBT announced in May that it entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Long Lake, a company that uses frontier technology to accelerate services businesses.

The companies said that subject to customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close in the second half.

Upon closing, Amex GBT will become a privately held company enhanced with additional AI capabilities. The transaction will combine Long Lake’s applied AI capabilities with Amex GBT’s marketplace, customer relationships and technology solutions, the companies said.
