The universal Gemini agent can answer questions, handle knowledge work, create images and media, and write and run code, according to the post.
Gemini agent works inside Gmail, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Chat and Calendar; can be accessed from any device and any channel; carries the same memory, skills and controls it has everywhere else; and delivers actionable operational insights in response to plain-language questions, the post said.
The agent is secured and governed through identity and policy management, authorization and permission controls, secure sandboxing and network gateways. It enables cost controls via multi-model orchestration, Smart Routing and real-time spend caps, per the post.

Gemini agent can securely connect to software run by the user’s company as well as any Model Context Protocol (MCP) server; can use custom skills added by the user as well as the skills it already has; and learns from each interaction with the user, according to the post.
The industry-specific agents will have additional skills, tools and knowledge. The agents for financial services and legal are now in preview, while those for government, healthcare and retail will be released soon, the post said.
Gemini for Financial Services automates investment research, credit analysis and risk modeling; draws on financial data from FactSet, LSEG, SEC filings and the user’s own proprietary repositories; and is designed to satisfy rigorous compliance, per the post.
Google Cloud announced in August that it had agentic AI solutions for the financial services industry and the legal industry in preview and that these would be the first in a series of solutions designed for specific industries and built on top of the Gemini Enterprise platform.
Google Cloud announced the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform in April, describing it as a unified system designed to handle the building, connecting, securing and governing of AI agents.
Google parent company Alphabet, reported in July that during the second quarter, enterprise customers’ demand for computing capacity, Gemini models and AI applications contributed to an 82% increase in Google Cloud revenue.
