Live video commerce solution CommentSold has added a point-of-sale (POS) system built on financial infrastructure platform Stripe to its suite of solutions for retail businesses.

CommentSold is deploying the in-person payments solution Stripe Terminal in order to power its POS system, help online merchants augment their live selling revenue and deliver interactive shopping experiences that unify their in-person and online presence, according to a Thursday (Sept. 22) press release.

“As retailers manage both online and in-person sales, it is increasingly important to get omnichannel inventory and payment handling right,” CommentSold CEO Brandon Kruse said. “We are thrilled to launch a point of sale system that ties directly into a shop’s [eCommerce] platform. Our point of sale offering brings much-needed simplicity to our merchants as in-person sales can now update online inventory in real-time.”

With the addition of this POS system, CommentSold now offers retailers a unified solution that includes in-person and online purchasing, inventory and order management, invoicing, labeling, packaging and fulfillment processing, according to the release.

“For many customers, there’s nothing better than having that special touch that comes with an in-person purchase,” Stripe Product Manager Roshan Sadanani said. “Our collaboration with CommentSold unifies online payments and point-of-sale for businesses, helping them grow revenue across live streams, live sales, and everything in between.”

As PYMNTS reported in June, Stripe terminal, which has been available in the U.S. since 2019, helps businesses juggle issues that may arise when online sellers extend their sales to in-person.

The tool relieves these businesses of the need to stitch together POS hardware and software, manage security and certification processes, and comply with regulatory and hardware requirements.

CommentSold’s new POS system supplements its ability to help retailers with live selling on social media, mobile apps and websites, per the release. As PYMNTS reported in July 2021, CommentSold is one of a host of live-streaming startups and innovators that have experienced explosive growth.
