Speaking at the Goldman Sachs 2026 Communacopia + Technology conference, Georgakopoulos said that by changing its previous structure and operating as one company, Fiserv can better serve parts of the business that were underused because they touch both FS and MS or they sat on one side of the business while primarily benefiting the other.
Fiserv’s issuing platform, debit network and Stonecastle Cash Management products have synergies that can be better leveraged, Georgakopoulos said. The company’s modern ledger, Finxact, also presents growth opportunities by being sold as not only a banking core but also a core ledger for enterprise clients, he said.

“[Finxact], together with our issuing business and our network business, I think are at the core of the synergies between the two sides of Fiserv, and it’s just very important to monetize those things, which historically, again we have not done, and the way we have set up the business, we were not set up for success around those.”
PYMNTS reported Aug. 6 that during Fiserv’s first quarterly report delivered with Georgakopoulos as CEO, he said he was reviewing Fiserv’s wide product portfolio. Georgakopoulos became CEO on June 15.
During the quarterly report, Georgakopoulos said that Fiserv will invest in products that can compete with the strongest alternatives in the market and will consider other options where it can’t.
At that point, Fiserv had already divested or moved to divest its student loan servicing and managed ATM businesses. The company was also leaving unprofitable merchant segments in India.
Speaking of clients, Georgakopoulos said: “They want platforms that work. They want us to deliver what we promised. They want good customer service.”
PYMNTS reported in April that Fiserv had undertaken an action plan called One Fiserv, in which the company aims to enhance client service, accelerate product development, address operational inefficiencies and optimize capital management. The fourth quarter of 2025 was the first full quarter in which Fiserv executed the action plan.
