Verifone Adds mPOS And Unattended Support For UK Merchants

There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that consumer demands are changing, especially when it comes to digital.

While most retail transactions still occur in physical stores, eCommerce has fundamentally changed the way consumers engage with the retail space on and offline. Today more than ever, consumers expect the same personalized, seamless experience in-store that they get online.

Recently, electronic payment company Verifone announced it had added support for mPOS and unattended retail devices for U.K. brick-and-mortar retailers using the company’s omnichannel PaaS (Payment as a Service) solution.

“Today’s consumers want to shop and pay however and whenever they want,” said Kevin Freeguard, vice president and managing director, Verifone, U.K. and Ireland.

Verifone’s PaaS enables connectivity between retailers’ in-store and eCommerce channels, enabling them to have a holistic view of sales and consumer data across online and physical points of sale.

By having easy access to this information, omnichannel retailers will be able to create more seamless, personal purchasing experiences and marketing efforts for their consumers across in-store and online channels.

The company has now broadened its solution’s technology suite to work in its Verifone e355 mPOS and its UX series of unattended retail devices in the U.K.

“By extending the reach of our solution’s capabilities, retailers can now deliver memorable omnichannel experiences that strengthen their brand to customers not only at the checkout counter but throughout the store — even unattended points of sale,” Freeguard said.

Additionally, Verifone has integrated its PaaS solution with its Commerce Platform, a cloud-based technology that enables retailers to customize their PoS across third-party and proprietary apps.
