Making E-Commerce Safe And Profitable

The Merchant Risk Council (MRC) is putting the finishing touches on the inaugural European e-Commerce Payments and Risk Conference – focusing on helping online and multi-channel retailers improve their security and payment strategies while exploring specific operational solutions in fighting and mitigating online risk and fraud.

We’re taking our proven structure for connecting members to members, sharing best practices, creating essential benchmarking research and working together to improve the industry.

This European expansion has truly been a merchant-driven initiative. European merchants have been very eager to begin a cross-Atlantic collaboration to better fight globally-organized online fraud.

During this conference (set for 1-3 September in Amsterdam), leading global online merchants will join a roster of the most innovative solution providers in the industry to present unique and valuable insight and information on the growth, diversity and risks associated with electronic commerce.

The e-Commerce industry is experiencing a rapidly-increasing diversity with so many players providing products and services that are fundamentally changing how the world communicates and does business (think Apple, Facebook, Google, Second Life, etc.). This European event is our next gathering point for all these industry stakeholders on both sides of the Atlantic to present and share payment, security and fraud best practices.

We are very excited about our lineup of speakers and presenters.

  • Merchant presenters include: Ezetop, Nike, SonyStyle and TESCO.
  •

  • Speakers from leading solution providers and card brands include: CyberSource, GlobalCollect, LexisNexis, TESCO, Retail Decisions, Visa Europe, among others.

The Merchant Risk Council is thrilled to have all these speakers and presenters give our European attendees a panoramic view of the issues that most affect global e-Commerce security and profitability.

Over the past decade, MRC events have evolved from a select group of merchants, gathered together with the purpose of networking about online fraud prevention, into the world’s foremost conferences dedicated to educating the industry on issues relating to e-Commerce risk and payments. This inaugural European Conference unites some of the top global and European internet and multi-channel merchants, credit card brands, electronic payment processors and providers, risk management providers and various consultants in discussing how to make shopping on the internet easier, safer and more efficient for all involved.

In total, the European Conference includes 200 delegates (majority will be merchants) and more than 25 speakers and panelists – focusing on improving operational efficiencies, identifying global cyber threats, managing new payment platforms, and utilizing the newest fraud prevention tools.

The MRC’s European e-Commerce Payments and Risk Conference is sponsored by Retail Decisions and GlobalCollect and held at the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam from 1-3 September, 2010.
