The diners brought in by those model integrations spent on average 20% more than those reached through other channels, according to the release.

OpenTable’s integrations include Google’s Search, Maps and Gemini; OpenAI’s ChatGPT; Microsoft’s Copilot; Perplexity; and Amazon’s Alexa+ AI assistant, per the release.

Outlining results delivered by some of its other tech offerings, OpenTable said in the release that its AI Concierge is now helping more than 500,000 monthly active global users discover restaurants through natural conversations; its Table Automations tool is saving operators 4.5 hours per month on average by automatically adjusting table minimum based on live demand; its Turn Time and Availability Insights are helping operators gain 39 minutes of reservable time per shift by showing the operators how to stop losing bookable hours and inventory; and its voice AI integrations have booked 3 million diners in 2026, often after operating hours and always without pulling host stand staff away from the floor, per the release.

OpenTable’s technology solves real problems and helps restaurants do more with less, Chief Technology Officer Sagar Mehta said in the release.

“We’ve developed these tools by listening directly to our restaurant partners and building what they’ve asked for,” Mehta said. “We’re applying AI and automation where they can make the biggest difference—driving demand, unlocking revenue and helping teams deliver more personalized hospitality without adding more complexity.”

OpenTable and Square announced in August that they expanded their partnership to enable restaurant operators to manage reservations, payments and guest data on Square software and hardware, giving operators a more complete understanding of their guests.

The enhanced integration built on an earlier point-of-sale partnership that OpenTable and Square began in 2022, and it unlocked the sharing of deeper insights between the two platforms, the companies said at the time in a press release.

Deloitte reported in March that about 70% of restaurant operators are either actively using or piloting AI to improve loyalty programs and employee workflows. Large restaurant brands are applying AI across ordering, marketing, supply chain management and labor planning.

The PYMNTS Intelligence report “Why More Restaurants Need to Bite Into Digital Transformation” found in July 2024 that restaurant operators are also adopting digital wallets, mobile apps, QR codes and other technologies to thrive in a digital-first landscape.

Another PYMNTS Intelligence report, “From First Prompt to Daily Habit: The Data Behind Rising Gen AI Reliance,” found in July 2026 that among personal users who use generative AI often for selected tasks, 40% use it for everyday planning, 34% use it to discover what to buy, and 27% use it for planning travel and activities.
