Now, at checkout, CarParts.com offers its customers Klarna’s options to pay in full, split a purchase into four interest-free payments or spread the cost over time with financing, according to the release.

These flexible ways to pay with Klarna include Pay in full, Pay in 4 and Pay over time, according to the CarParts.com website.

“We want every trip to CarParts.com to be as seamless as possible, from finding the right part to paying for it,” CarParts.com Chief Operating Officer Michael Huffaker said in the release. “Klarna’s flexible payment options give our customers more control over how they pay, so they can take care of their vehicle on their own terms.”

Klarna’s payments and commerce network includes 1.2 million retailers, 120 million global active users and 3.8 million transactions per day, according to the release.

Sarah Kocina, head of GtM partnerships, North America, at Klarna, said the collaboration with CarParts.com shows how easy it is for retailers to work with Klarna.

“With one integration, their customers get the full range of ways to pay with Klarna,” Kocina said. “Whether a driver needs a quick fix or a major repair, they can choose the option that fits that purchase. That’s the setup we want every merchant to have.”

The PYMNTS Intelligence report “How Preferred Payment Availability Can Reduce Cart Abandonment” found in 2024 that offering the right payment options can boost conversions.

Seventy percent of consumers said they considered the availability of their preferred payment method very or extremely influential when choosing an online store, according to the report.

“Today’s digital-first consumer tends not to complete a purchase when the payment experience is not seamless,” the report said. “They increasingly expect easy access to their preferred payment method at checkout and may abandon their cart if their preferred payment method is unavailable.”

Klarna reported during an August earnings call that consumers are increasingly using the payment options it offers beyond the popular Pay in 4.

CarParts.com reported during an August earnings call that it has been building both a digital layer and a physical layer that includes supply chain, distribution, fulfillment, inventory and last-mile capability.
