Navigating The COVID-19 Pandemic: The Post-Pandemic Reset is the fourth in PYMNTS' series of studies examining how consumers' are adjusting to mid-pandemic life and what they envision life might be like after the pandemic subsides. Our analysis draws from am April 11 survey of 2,277 U.S. consumers in which we asked them whether they believed they would go back to shopping in stores or continue shopping online after the pandemic subsided when they believed their lives would return to normal.
Inside the April 11 study:
  • 32.0 percent: Share of consumers who have shifted from working on site to workin remotely online
  • 19.7 million: Estimated number of U.S. consumers who do not plan to go back to grocery shopping in stores
  • 40.9 percent: Portion of adult U.S. consumers who are employed or earning an income
